DAVID RAY STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD
Prof.dr. David Ray of the University of Nottingham, former INA president and teacher of many PhD students, regrettably passed away in 2010. To honour David, the Executive
Committee of INA will award the best presentation of the student symposium with the David Ray Student Travel Award.
David was an Englishman par excellence, an
outstanding researcher in neurotoxicology and a good friend to many INA members. His comments and questions were always phrased sagaciously, blended with finest 'British'
humour. INA lost a valuable promoter of neurotoxicology much too early and starting with INA-14 in the Netherlands this award will be conferred every INA meeting to keep
the memory of David Ray alive.
From the students applying for student travel support, six will be selected to receive partial reimbursement (i.e. waived
registration fee) and to present their ongoing PhD work during the INA student symposium. The best presentation will be rewarded with the David Ray Student Travel Award.
The awardee will receive free registration and full compensation of her or his travel expenses (up to EUR 1,500).
To apply for this prestigious award, students
should submit an abstract with their CV and indicate the name of the supervisor (must be INA member) by e-mail to the Conference Secretariat:
INA@bastiaanse-communication.com. Supervisors of PhD students applying for travel support are strongly encouraged to participate in the meeting.
